Big news for SFRS! With a much clearer understanding of the Covid-19 virus and its variants, it has become possible to hold small ("HYBRID") in-person chapter meetings and live-stream them to our long-distance membership. The 2022 SFEMS Summer Workshops were held in person with great success and we hope to emulate that success by employing similar measures. Meeting times will vary on a month-to-month basis, depending on whether or not local conductors are comfortable with working with our membership under our health and safety protocols. Of course, when our conductors are not local, meetings will be held on Zoom.
Our 2022-23 Season is now posted on our MEETING SCHEDULE page. Our meetings have officially been permanently scheduled for Sunday afternoons at 2PM Pacific Time, whether in-person for local players and conductors or online for long-distance conductors and players. If it should become necessary to hold meetings strictly online we will maintain the same schedule.
If you would like to join our meetings, scroll down for details. We always do our best to present interesting programs for you to enjoy under the direction of experienced conductors and teachers.
To the dozens of players who have subscribed to our virtual season from around the country, we thank you very much for your continued participation and support and hope that you are back to meeting in person with your local chapters as well.
For our in-person meetings on the Sundays listed on our MEETING SCHEDULE page, we will meet in the sanctuary of our long-time home, Christ Church Lutheran. If you live (or plan to be) in the San Francisco area and would like to play with us, or if you would like to take part in our virtual chapter meetings, please contact Greta Haug-Hryciw to be included on the roster for a particular meeting. Contact information is on our About SFRS page.
Health protocols: To play in person we require proof of up-to-date Covid-19 vaccination and a negative rapid antigen test the day of the meeting. These protocols are what allow us to meet in relative safety and we appreciate everyone's willingness to follow them.
Non-members are asked for a $15 playing fee per session which can be applied to the $55 annual chapter membership fee. If joining after February 1, the membership is $25 for the remainder of the season. Click HERE for a membership application (download, fill in, save and either print or email it back to us).
